Painting stripes and branding icons

When Royal & SunAlliance Insurance was renamed RSA it was decided to modernise and refresh its corporate brand. This had to be reflected on all corporate colours used. Ecopainting was asked to help with creating architectural paint colours from Pantone swatches. As most in the colour business know, that is almost impossible. As a result, liberal interpretations of these colours and formulas had to be created. After several trips to the paint dealers, some help from Benjamin Moore and a lot of trial and error, the colours were finally chosen.

In the downtownToronto main office building, a designated conference room became the brand room. In that conference room, work was contracted to Ecopainting that incorporated the new colours and branding icons. A colour matched white (custom colour) was used as a basecoat and the trim was painted a stock colour from a major manufacturer. On the North side of the room, four long stripes of different width were painted, using the new colours. These stripes were painted along the length of the North wall. The top colour was to be a pure magenta. The only way to make that possible would be to use almost pure colourant and of course that would make drying time and hiding almost impossible. Instead, a stock colour was used from a major manufacturer. The results were spectacular.

On one of the columns, four graphic icons were to be painted, again, using the same colours and background colours to match. That was a task that had to be completed by an artist. We had the opportunity to use the services of Xan Lazaridis. Xan is an artist from FaceArt Originals. Templates were created off the jobsite in the computer and were transferred to masking film that could be used for that purpose. After a couple of late night visits, lots of hard work and some amazing patience, mostly by Xan, the project was completed successfully.

The painters enjoyed what was not an everyday type of project. If you need any commercial painting services, call 416 733-7767 or request an estimate online.
