Ajax Painters and Painting Contractors.

Our Ajax Painters worked in many projects in this growing community. We provide both residential and commercial painting services throughout the Durham Region. Ajax is becoming a bedroom community to Toronto and local residents commute daily in heavy traffic. By comparison, driving from Toronto to Ajax in the morning is a breeze for our painters.

The community has grown considerably since the 1980s, comprising both residential and commercial growth. With highway extensions and plans to widen the local roadways, the municipality is frantically preparing for the future. Our GTA painters and Ecopainting are looking forward to growing together with this vibrant Durham community.

Many Ajax residents still work in downtown Toronto and some even commute to Oshawa. The commercial section is located south of Bayly Street, between Brock Road and Harwood. There is a concentration of small and big businesses there,  with some major employers, such as the Ajax Pickering Hospital and Volkswagen Canada.

In 2002, Ecopainting had the pleasure of painting the headquarters of Volkswagen, located on Bayly Street. In 2002 this was by far the biggest contract our small company was awarded. We spent a month working during evening hours, as not to disrupt the operations of our customer. Our scope of work included all common and office areas, as well as some warehouse and storage space.

A few months later, they decided to renovate the employee area and the cafeteria. We were fortunate to be the company awarded with this painting contract. The general contractor in charge of the renovation was Weber Construction. This was the first of many project we did for Weber, including painting at Go Transit locations throughout the GTA. The product we used at the Volkswagen project was the zero VOC Eco-spec from Benjamin Moore. We were very happy with its performance and so was the customer. Since then Benjamin Moore replaced that product line with the improved Ultra-Spec 500.

From the Customer’s Comments: “…the quality of their work was excellent, especially considering there was no disruption of any kind to the staff. Their use of ecologically friendly painting methods left virtually no smell. In fact most employees were not even aware there was painting going on. Most importantly the job finished on time and within budget” Monte W.

Since then we painted a few more projects in the Ajax area such as: the Go Transit, the Pine Ridge Memorial, Monarch Kitchens, the Liquidation Centre, medical clinics at Bayly & Harwood, the Pickering Village Church, etc.

Residential Painting in Ajax

Ajax Painter Decorating a Home

Before the war, Ajax used to be just a rural part of Pickering. The town itself was established in 1941, when a Defense Industries Limited (D.I.L.) plant was constructed and the town grew around the plant. By 1945 there were over 9 thousand people working at the plant. During that time the basic infrastructure was created for what later would become the town of Ajax. The smaller homes of that era are still used as housing in the old Ajax.

Most residential construction is happening north of the old Ajax. These new subdivision homes have the dreaded builder’s beige paint and they all need decorating. We painted many of these homes in Ajax and Whitby, especially along the Taunton street developments.

Tammie L. was one of our residential customers. We painted her home when she was out of the country and coordinated everything with her father. Tammie’s was a very interesting and rewarding project. Among the areas we painted in their home, was the nursery and the kitchen. In the nursery, a unique striping effect was used with very pretty colours. We used a lot of masking tape that was delicately applied and removed. The image above shows one of our painters decorating the nursery. We used Benjamin Moore Aura matte for the majority of the rooms. In the kitchen Tammie chose a cool and yet vibrant blue tone. A kitchen paint with that colour would surely encourage a lot of cooking activity and social interaction. The remaining areas of this home were painted with neutral warm colours.

The customer was impressed with the professionalism and promptness of our Ajax Painters: “What a great team. Started on time and finished on schedule. The work was wonderful, we are very pleased with everything. It was a pleasure. Thanks Karon and crew!”
